At Bamako, Mali:
Koffi Pascal Nguessan scored the game's only goal at 25 minutes as Djoliba Athletic Club took game one of their two-match set with ASC Linguere 1-0 at home.
At Abdijan, Ivory Coast:
Al-Halil Omdurman held hosts Africa Sports National to a game-one 0-0 stalemate.
At Casablanca, Morocco:
Mouhssine Moutouali's successful penalty kick at 48 minutes enabled Raja Casablanca to salvage a 1-1 home draw in game one with Atletico Petroleos Luanda. Avex scored at 43 minutes for the visiting Angolan club.
At N'Djamena, Chad:
Traig Mokhtar's own goal at 80 minutes allowed Gazelle FC to gain a 1-1 home draw in match one with Sudan's Al-Merreikh. The visitors got their goal at 70 minutes from Kelechi Osunwa.
At Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo:
Cuthbert Malajila scored the only goal of the match (73') as Dynamos FC from Zimbabwe took game one 1-0 on the road against Saint Eloi Lupopo.
At Douala, Cameroon:
ES Setif won game one 2-0 on the road against Union Douala. Lazhar Hadj Aissa (19') and Lamouri Djediat (39') each scored once for the visiting Algerian club.
