UCL Group E: AS Roma Knock Off Bayern; Basel Stay Alive

Group stage play in the UEFA Champions League resumed with eight games on Tuesday, two of them in Group E.

At Rome:

Francesco Totti scores Roma's winner from the penalty spot



Marco Borriello (49'), Daniele De Rossi (81'), and Francesco Totti (PK-84', shown here) provided the second-half scoring as AS Roma erased a two-goal halftime deficit and knocked off visiting (and already knockout-stage-bound) Bayern Munich 3-2.

At Basel, Switzerland:

Cluj goalkeeper Nuno Claro saves a shot form Basel's Alexander Frei

Federico Almerares scored the only goal of the match at 15 minutes as FC Basel kept their hopes of advancing to the knockout stage alive with a 1-0 home win over CFR Cluj. Despite the galant effort shown here by goalkeeper Nunu Claro, saving a shot from Basel's Alexander Frei, the Romanian club were still eliminated from European competition.
