UEFA Champions League Group C: Frei Boys Carry FC Basel To Home Win; Red Devils Come Back To Gain Draw In Lisbon

Wednesday marked the opening of UEFA Champions League action in Group C, with two matches contested.

At Basel, Switzerland:


 


Fabian Frei (39', that's him celebrating) and Alexander Frei (PK-84') each scored once as FC Basel defeated visiting FC Otelul Galati 2-1.

At Lisbon, Portugal:





Ryan Giggs' equalizer in the 42nd minute lifted Manchester United to a 1-1 road draw with SL Benfica.  Oscar Cardozo scored for the Eagles in the 24th minute.  Here's the longtime Red Devil celebrating following his game-tying tally.
