CONCACAF Champions League: Reds Blast Hoops On Road To Advance; Morelia Reach Quarterfinals Too

Three games were played in the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.


Group A:


At Morelia, Mexico:


Joao Rojas and Miguel Sabah provided the scoring that enabled Morelia to lock up a berth in the quarterfinal round with a 2-1 win over visiting Alajuelense.


Group C:


At Frisco, Texas:


Joao Plato scored twice (69', 81') as Toronto FC clinched a berth in the quarterfinal round with a 3-0 road domination of FC Dallas, eliminating the Hoops from the tournament.


Group D:


At Seattle:


Abraham Carreno (3') and Cesar Delgado (60') each scored once as Monterrey knocked off the Seattle Sounders 2-1 on the road to win Group D and eliminate Comunicaciones from the tournament.
