OFC Champions League: Kiwi Clubs Off To Fast Starts

The OFC Champions League commenced on Saturday with three group-stage contests.


Group A:


At Auckland, New Zealand:


Roy Krishna's five-goal performance (33', 40', 49', 70', 90'), Ryan De Vries' hat trick (14', 37', 75') and Allan Pearce's double (PK-10', 44') provided the scoring at Waitakere United destroyed visiting Tefana by the biggest single-game margin in OFC Champions League history, 10-0.


Group B:


At Port Vila, Vanuatu:


Hekari United battle home standing Amical to a 1-1 deadlock.  Jack Kema's late equalizer (90'+ 3) enabled the guests to grab a share of the points.  Fenedy Masauvakalo scored in the 45th minute for the hosts.  


At Honiara, Solomon Islands:


Auckland City, with Manel Esposito (22', 54') and David Mulligan (86', 90'+3) each scoring twice, began defense of their Champions League crown with a 4-1 road thumping of Koloale FC.
