Omar Cummings scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute on Thursday night as the Colorado Rapids defeated the visiting Columbus Crew 1-0 to advance to the conference semifinal phase of the Major League Soccer playoffs. The Rapids will host Sporting Kansas City in the opening contest this Sunday of their Eastern Conference two-game semifinal series.
