Shamrock Whack Woeful Galway United To Cap Off Championship Season

At Dublin, Ireland:

As League of Ireland Premier Division play came to a close for the season on Friday, Chris Turner (31'), Billy Dennehy (37'), Karl Sheppard (PK-65'), and Ronan Finn (83') each scored a goal as Shamrock Rovers, who already clinched the league crown and a UEFA Champions League second-qualifying-round berth, demolished basement-occupying Galway United 4-0 on the road.  The visitors finished dead last and will take on the third-place club from the First Division in a two-match playoff for the right to stay in the top flight of Irish soccer.
