At London:


Roman Pavlyuchenko scored the lone goal of the match in the 33rd minute as Tottenham Hotspur defeated visiting FC Rubin Kazan 1-0.


At Thessaloniki, Greece:


Vieirinha scored the winning goal in the 63rd minute as PAOK FC defeated visiting Shamrock Rovers 2-1.

Nicki Adrian's 23rd-minute equalizer carried FC Zurich to a 1-1 home stalemate with Lazio.  Guiseppe Sculli scored at 22 minutes for the visiting Young Eagles.

Denys Garmash scored the only goal of the match during second-half stoppage time (90'+4) as Dynamo Kiev defeated visiting Besiktas  1-0.

At Bratislava, Slovakia:


Paris Saint-Germain, despite ending the game with only nine men, still managed to hold hosts Slovan Bratislava to a 0-0 stalemate.

FC Metalist Kharkiv spotted Malmo FF a 1-0 lead, then, with Jonathan Cristaldo (32'), Vinicius Fininho (45'), Edmar Aparesida (57'), and Marko Devic (73') each scoring one, ended up overtaking and overpowering their Swedish hosts 4-1.


At Alkmaar, Netherlands:

AZ Alkmaar, thanks to goals from Peter Hlinka (OG-80') and Rasmus Elm (83') came back from two goals down to gain a 2-2 home draw with Austria Vienna.  Dirk Marcellis (OG-19') and Alexander Gorgon (29') provided the first-half goals for the visiting Violets.

Chris Wood scored the winning goal late in second-half stoppage time (90'+10) as Birmingham City defeated Club Brugge 2-1 on the road.
