MLS: Crew, Red Bulls, Dynamo, Fire, Rapids Post Saturday Wins; Timbers and Goats Battle To Stalemate; Goose Eggs For Caps and Quakes

Eight games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Montreal:

Chad Marshall (66') and Dominic Oduro (78') provided the scoring as the Columbus Crew came from behind to upend the Eastern Conference-leading Montreal Impact 2-1 on the road.

At Washington:

Chris Pontius (39') and Kyle Porter (84') provided the scoring for DC United as the hosts gained a 2-2 draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy.  Robbie Keane (7') and Michael Stephens (81') each tallied once for the Galaxy.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Thierry Henry (32') and Fabian Espindola (80') provided the scoring as the New York Red Bulls took over first place in the Eastern Conference following their 2-0 home blanking of Toronto FC, assuring the Reds of missing the playoffs for a seventh consecutive season, having never qualified for postseason play in their history.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Ricardo Clark scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute as the Houston Dynamo knocked off the Philadelphia Union 1-0 on the road.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Alex scored the winning goal in the 86th minute as the Chicago Fire defeated the visiting New England Revolution 3-2.

At Commerce City, Colorado:

Matt Hedges' own goal in the 65th minute proved costly as the Colorado Rapids defeated visiting FC Dallas 2-1.

At Carson, California:

Diego Valeri's equalizer in the 50th minute lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 road draw with Chivas USA.  Bryan de la Fuente scored in the 23rd minute for the Goats, who were still eliminated from playoff contention.

At Santa Clara:

The Vancouver Whitecaps and home-standing San Jose Earthquakes battled to a 0-0 stalemate.
