The victory clinched the Atlantic Cup (a competition between the two clubs) title for the hosts. Goalkeeper Bill Hamid made five saves to preserve the shutout.
At Carson, California:
Gyasi Zardes scored twice (41', 71') as the Los Angeles Galaxy continued their late push for the Western Conference title (and a shot at the Supporters Shield) with their 3-0 domination of Chivas USA in an Angelino Derby (in fact, the final SuperClassico) that was designated a home game for the soon-to-be re-named and re-branded Goats, who finished the match with ten men, after Erick Torres was ejected via a straight red card in the 75th minute after his clumsy tackle on the Galaxy's Baggio Husidic.
