Diego Valeri (65'), Jack Jewsbury (87'), and Fanendo Adi (90'+2) each scored a goal in the final half-hour as the Portland Timbers blindsided visiting Sporting Kansas City 3-0 in a match that saw each team reduced to ten men due to red-card ejections.
At Orlando, Florida:
Clint Dempsey produced a hat trick (14', 37', 48') as the Seattle Sounders defeated Orlando City 3-1 on the road.
At Carson, California:
Mike Magee (80') and Ashley Cole (89') each scored a late goal to carry the Los Angeles Galaxy back from a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 home draw with the New York Red Bulls. Gonzalo Veron (68') and Sean Davis (74') delivered the goals for the Red Bulls.
