Europa League: Bayer Leverkusen, Zurich, Dinamo Zagreb, Gunners, Eintracht Frankfurt, Lazio, Chelsea Advance To Knockout Stage

The second half of Europa League group-stage play commenced on Thursday with 24 games.

GROUP A:

At Leverkusen, Germany:

Tin Jedvaj scored the only goal of the match in the 60th minute as Bayer Leverkusen defeated visiting FC Zurich 1-0 as both clubs advanced to the knockout stage.

At Razgrad, Bulgaria:

Ludogorets Razgrad and visiting vs. AEK Larnaca battled to a 0-0 stalemate which saw both clubs eliminated from the tournament.

Group A Standings:

2. x-FC Zurich (GP: 4; GD: +2; PTS: 9)

At Trondheim, Norway:

Takumi Minamino produced a hat trick (6', 19', 45') as FC Red Bull Salzburg dominated Rosenborg 5-2 on the road.

At Glasgow, Scotland:

Odsonne Edouard scored the game winner in the 79th minute as Celtic defeated visiting RB Leipzig 2-1.

Group B Standings:

1. FC Red Bull Salzburg (GP: 4; GD: +9; PTS: 12)
2. RB Leipzig (GP: 4; GD: +2; PTS: 6)
3. Celtic (GP: 4; GD: -2; PTS: 6)

At Bordeaux, France:

Bordeaux (France) vs. Zenit Saint Petersburg (Russia):

Anton Zabolotny's equalizer in the 72nd minute carried Zenit Saint Petersburg to a 1-1 road draw with Bordeaux.

Francois Kamano converted a penalty kick in the 35th minute for the French club's goal.

At Prague, Czech Republic:

Slavia Prague and guests FC Copenhagen battled to a 0-0 deadlock.

At Istanbul, Turkey:

Mathieu Valbuena (71') and Michael Frey (74') each scored once as Fenerbahce blanked visiting RSC Anderlecht 2-0, eliminating the Belgian club from European competition.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

Andrej Kadlec's own goal in the 36th minute was a Godsend to Dinamo Zagreb as they defeated visiting FC Spartak Trnava 3-1 and locked up a berth in the Europa League's knockout stage.

At Poltava, Ukraine:

Araz Abdullayev scored the game's lone goal in the 13th minute thanks to his successfully-converted penalty kick as Qarabag knocked off Vorskla Poltava 1-0 on the road.

At London:

The contest between Arsenal and visiting Sporting CP concluded in a 0-0 draw as the Gunners locked up knockout-stage berth.

2.    Sporting CP (GP: 4; GD: +2; PTS: 7)

At Seville, Spain:

Suso's equalizer in the 62nd minute carried AC Milan to a 1-1 road draw with Real Betis.

Giovani Lo Celso scored for the hosts in the 12th minute.

At Piraeus, Greece:

Kostas Fortounis scored twice (15', 36') as Olympiacos demolished visiting F91 Dudelange 5-1, knocking the Luxembourgian club out of the tournament.

Group F Standings:

1.   Real Betis (GP: 4; GD: +4; PTS: 8)
2.   AC Milan (GP: 4; GD: +2; PTS: 7)
3.   Olympiacos (GP: 4; GD: +4; PTS: 7)

NOTE:  Head-to-head points favor AC Milan over Olympiacos (3-0), thanks to the Rossoneri's  3-1 home win over The Legend on October 4.



GROUP G:

At Moscow:

Sofiane Hanni scored the winning goal in the 59th minute as Spartak Moscow defeated visiting Rangers 4-3.

At Vienna, Austria:

Rapid Vienna and visiting Villarreal battled to a 0-0 stalemate.

Group G Standings:

1. Villarreal (GP: 4; GD: +5; PTS: 6)
2. Spartak Moscow (GP: 4; GD: -1; PTS: 5)
3. Rangers (GP: 4; GD: +1; PTS: 5)
4. Rapid Vienna (GP: 4; GD: -5; PTS: 4)

NOTE:  Spartak Moscow had a win and a draw in two games against Rangers, outpointing the Scottish club 4-1.



GROUP H:

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Mijat Gacinovic scored the winning goal in the 58th minute as Eintracht Frankfurt knocked Apollon Limassol out of the tournament with a 3-2 road victory while advancing to the Round of 32 themselves in the process.

At Rome:

Marco Parolo (45'+1) and Joaquin Correa (55') each scored once as Lazio laid claim to a berth in the knockout stage after defeating visiting Marseille 2-1, eliminating last season tournament runners up in the process.

Marcus Antonsson's equalizer at 67 minutes carried Malmo to a 1-1 home draw with Sarpsborg 08.

Patrick Mortensen scored for the Norwegian club in the 63rd minute.

At Genk, Belgium:

Sander Berge's goal in the 87th minute lifted KRC Genk to a 1-1 home draw with Besiktas.

Ricardo Quaresma scored for the Black Eagles in the 16th minute.

Group I Standings:

1. KRC Genk (GP: 4; GD: +2; PTS: 7)
2. Sarpsborg 08 (GP: 4; GD: 0; PTS: 5)
3. Malmo FF (GP: 4; GD: 0; PTS: 5)

At Krasnodar, Russia:

Wanderson scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute as FC Krasnodar came from behind to upend visiting Standard Liege 2-1.

At Akhisar, Turkey:

Ever Banega's successfully-executed penalty kick in the 87th minute carried Sevilla to a 3-2 road win over Akhisarspor, eliminating the Turkish club from the tournament.

Group J Standings:

1.    FC Krasnodar (GP: 4; GD: +2; PTS: 9)
2.    Sevilla (GP: 4; GD: +10; PTS: 9)
3.    Standard Liege (GP: 4; GD: -3; PTS; 6)

NOTE:  FC Krasnodar defeated visiting Sevilla 2-1 on October 4, thus giving the Russian club a 3-0 point advantage.

At Astana, Kazakhstan:

Yevgeny Postnikov scored the winning goal in the 88th minute to carry Astana past visiting Jablonec 2-1.

At Kiev, Ukraine:

Vitaliy Mykolenko scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute as Dynamo Kiev held off visiting Rennes 3-1.

Group K Standings:

2. Dynamo Kiev (GP: 4; GD: +3; PTS: 8)

GROUP L:

At Barysaw, Belarus:

Olivier Giroud scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute as Chelsea clinched a berth in the knockout stage with their 1-0 road win over FC BATE Borisov.

At Budapest, Hungary:

Georgi Milanov's goal in the 50th minute produced all the scoring in MOL Vidi's 1-0 win over visiting PAOK FC.

Group L Standings:
