UEFA Nations League: Three Lions, Switzerland Advance To Finals

The final cycle of group-stage games commenced in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday with seven games.

LEAGUE A:

Group Two:

At Lucerne, Switzerland:

Haris Seferovic produced a hat trick (31', 44', 84') as Switzerland dominated visiting Belgium and locked up a berth in next June's Finals.

Final Group Two Standings:

1. Switzerland (GP: 4; GD: +9; PTS: 9)
2. Belgium (GP: 4; GD: +3; PTS: 9)
3. Iceland (GP: 4; GD: -12; PTS: 0)

Switzerland won a berth in the June 2019 Finals while Iceland were relegated to League B.

Group Four:

Jesse Lingard (78') and Harry Kane (85') each scored once late in the second half as England came from behind to upend visiting Croatia 2-1 and lock up top spot in Group Four and a berth in next June's finals.

The visitors were relegated to League B for the 2020-21 tournament.

Final Group Four Standings:

1. England (GP: 4; GD: +1; PTS: 7)
2. Spain (GP: 4; GD: +5; PTS: 6)
3. Croatia (GP: 4; GD: -6; PTS: 4)

England advanced the the Nations League Finals while Croatia were relegated to League B for the 2020-21 tournament.



LEAGUE B:

Group Three:

At Belfast, Northern Ireland:

Valentino Lazaro scored the winning goal in second-half stoppage time (90'+3) as Austria defeated already-relegated Northern Ireland 2-1 on the road.

Final Group Three Standings:

1. Bosnia and Herzegovina (GP: 4; GD: +4; PTS: 10)
2. Austria (GP: 4; GD: +1; PTS: 7)
3. Northern Ireland (GP: 4; GD: -5; PTS: 0)

Bosnia and Herzegovina won promotion to League A while Northern Ireland were relegated to League C.



LEAGUE C:

Group Two:

At Budapest, Hungary:

Adam Szalai (29') and Adam Nagy (37') each scored once as Hungary blanked visiting Finland (who still managed to win promotion to League B) 2-0.

At Athens:

Vassilios-Kostantinos Lambropoulos' own goal in the 44th minute lifted Estonia to a 1-0 road win over Greece, ending the hosts' outside shot at promotion to League B.

Final Group Two Standings:

1. Finland (GP: 6; GD: +2; PTS: 12)
2. Hungary (GP: 6; GD: +3; PTS: 10)
3. Greece (GP: 6; GD: -1; PTS: 9)
4. Estonia (GP: 6; GD: -4; PTS: 4)

Finland won promotion to League B while Estonia were relegated to League D.



LEAGUE D:

Group Two:

At Chisinau, Moldova:

Stefano Bensi's equalizer in the 70th minute lifted Luxembourg to a 1-1 road draw with Moldova.

Radu Ginsari successfully converted a penalty kick in the 58th minute and scored for the hosts.

At Serravalle, San Marino:

Stanislaw Drahun (8') Anton Sakura (52') each scored once as Belarus sealed promotion to League C for the 2020-21 tournament after blanking San Marino 2-0 on the road.

Final Group Two Standings:

1. Belarus (GP: 6; GD: +10; PTS: 14)
2. Luxembourg (GP: 6; GD: +7; PTS: 10)
3. Moldova (GP: 6; GD: -1; PTS: 9)
4. San Marino (GP: 6; GD: -16; PTS: 0)

Belarus won promotion to League C.
