UEFA Champions League, Group A: Club Brugge Demolish Monaco, Knocking Them Out Of The Tournament; Mattress Makers Blank Dortmund

The second half of UEFA Champions League group-stage play  commenced on Tuesday with eight games, two of them in Group A.

At Fontvieille, Monaco:

Hans Vanaken scored twice (12', PK-17'; that's him on one of his goals) as Club Brugge demolished AS Monaco 4-0 on the road, eliminating the hosts from the tournament.

At Madrid:

Saul Niguez (33') and Antoine Griezmann (80') each scored once as Atletico Madrid blanked visiting Borussia Dortmund 2-0. Here are the happy Mattress Makers celebrating.

1.    Borussia Dortmund (GP: 4; GD: +6; PTS: 9)
2.    Atletico Madrid (GP: 4; GD: +1; PTS: 9)
