UEFA Champions League, Group E Bayern Munich Wins Group After Draw With Ajax In Amsterdam; Europa League-Bound Eagles Blank AEK Athens, Who Lose All Six Games

Group-stage play in the UEFA Champions League concluded on Wednesday with eight games, two of them in Group E.

At Amsterdam, Netherlands:

In a battle of two clubs bound for the Champions League's knockout stage, Robert Lewandowski scored twice (12', PK-87') and Kingsley Coman once (90') as Bayern Munich gained a 3-3 road draw with Ajax Amsterdam to clinch top spot in Group E.

Dusan Tadic scored twice (61', PK-82') and Nicolas Tagliafico once (90'+5) for the hosts, who will finish second in the group.

After the match, from second from left to right, Bayern's Joshua Kimmich, David Alaba, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, and Niklas Suele salute their fans.

Alex Grimaldo (second from right, as seen here, celebrating with teammates) scored the only goal of the match in the 88th minute as SL Benfica, who already locked up a knockout-stage berth in the Europa League defeated visiting AEK Athens (who lost all six group-stage games)1-0.

Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage.

SL Benfica qualified for the knockout stage of the Europa League.
