At Belo Horizonte, Brazil:
Ricardo Oliveira scored twice (PK-26', 28') and Luan Madson Gedeao de Paiva once (15') as Atletico Mineiro defeated visiting Danubio 3-2 in game two and ousted the Uruguayan club 5-4 on aggregate.
At Medellin, Colombia:
After a second 1-1 regulation draw that squared the series at 2-2 on aggregate, and with overtime dispensed with, Cristobal Jorquera, Luis Mago, Luis Jimenez, and Carlos Farias all converted their spot kicks as visiting Palestino won the penalty-kick shootout with Independiente Medellin 4-1 to advance to the third qualifying round.
At Guayaquil, Ecuador:
Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two road decision to Barcelona SC, Defensor Sporting won their series 3-1 on aggregate.
