TIME TO GET REAL: RSL CROWNED MLS CHAMPIONS

At Seattle:

After 90 minutes of regulation time, in which Mike Magee scored for the Los Angeles Galaxy at 40 minutes and Robbie Findley equalized in the 64th minute for Real Salt Lake, and after 30 scoreless overtime minutes, it is Real Salt Lake, thanks to successful penalty kicks from Clint Mathis, Robbie Findley, Ned Grabavoy, Chris Wingert, and Robbie Russel, who won the penalty kick shootout 5-4 (in seven rounds) to become the first team with a losing regular-season record to win the Major League Soccer championship on Sunday. RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando, who was on the DC United championship squad five years ago, was named the Most Valuable Player of the match. More than 46,000 fans showed up for the contest at Qwest Field.
