At the local derby concerning Rotterdam's other two Eredivisie clubs, Sparta Rotterdam, thanks to first-half tallies from Danny Schenkel (19') and Haris Medunjanin (39'), defeated visiting Excelsior 2-1.

At Arnhem:

Onur Kaya (8'), Danko Lazovic (PK-49'), and Fred Benson (51') powered Vitesse Arnhem to a 3-2 home win over FC Groningen. Luis Suarez scored both of the visitors' goals (31', 63')
