Dirk Kuyt (46') and Peter Crouch (53') provided the goals for Liverpool as the visiting Reds held off relegation-threatened West Ham United 2-1.
At Sheffield:
Thanks to goals from Jonathan Stead (23') and Michael Tonge (28') , Sheffield United racked up a 2-0 home win over Fulham.
At Portsmouth:
Visiting Middlesbrough and Portsmouth wound up deadlocked at 0-0.
At Reading:
Tallies from Ivar Ingimarsson (31'), Shane Long (51'), and Leroy Lita (88') enabled Reading to come from behind to hold off Wigan 3-2. The loss was the visiting Latics' club-record ninth straight.
