Red Devils, Blues, Post Easy Wins

Eight games were contested Saturday in the English Premier League:

At Manchester:

First-half goals from Ji-Sung Park (11') , Michael Carrick (13') , and Cristiano Ronaldo (35') spurred Manchester United to a convincing 3-1 home win over Aston Villa to maintain their six-point lead over Chelsea atop the EPL standings.

At London:

Goals from Frank Lampard (13') , Arjen Robben (63'), and Didier Drogba (90') helped lead Chelsea to a 4-0 home fistbeating of struggling Wigan Athletic to remain six points in back of Manchester United in the EPL standings.

At Blackburn:

Goals from Kolo Toure (37') and Thierry Henry (71') allowed Arsenal to pick up a 2-0 road win over Blackburn.

At London:

Philippe Christanval's equalizer (90') enabled Fulham to gain a 1-1 road draw with West Ham United. Yossi Benayoun scored twice (46', 64') for the struggling Hammers.

At Watford:

Peter Crouch tallied twice (40', 48') to help power Liverpool to a 3-0 road whitewashing of basement-occupying Watford.

At Bolton:

Visiting Manchester City and Bolton battled to a 0-0 deadlock.

At Sheffield:

Gary O'Neil knocked in the equalizer (81') to lift Portsmouth to a 1-1 road stalemate with Sheffield United.

At London:

Middlesbrough came from behind to pick up their first road win of the league season, 3-1 over struggling Charlton Athletic. Lee Cattermole (45') , Juilo Arca (63') , and Aiyegbeni Yakubu (68') scored for the Boro.
