At Bridgeview, Illinois:
Armando Pulido's double (37', 61') lifted Tigres to a 2-1 road win over the Chicago Fire. Despite the setback, the Fire still clinched a spot in the semifinal round. Tigres won the group based on head-to-head competition with Chicago (3 points to 0)
At Carson, California:
Atiba Harris' equalizer at 89 minutes enabled Chivas USA to salvage one point from group stage play as they gained a 1-1 home stalemate with San Luis. Both clubs have been elimination from contention for knockout stage play.
FINAL GROUP A STANDINGS:
1. UANL Tigres (GP: 3; GD: 0; PTS: 6)
2. Chicago Fire (GP: 3; GD: +1; PTS: 6)
3. San Luis (GP: 3; GD: +1; PTS: 4)
4. Chivas USA (GP: 3; GD: -2; PTS: 1)
UANL Tigres and Chicago advanced to the semifinal round. Tigres won Group A because of head-to-head play against the Fire.
