MLS: Timbers Smother Galaxy To End Home Winless Streak; SKC Blank RSL; Union and Fire Draw

Three games were played in Major League Soccer on Wednesday.


At Kansas City, Kansas:


Roger Espinoza (29') and Teal Bunbury (34') each scored once in the first half as Sporting Kansas City extended their club-record unbeaten streak to 14 games following their 2-0 home blanking of Real Salt Lake.


At Bridgeview, Illinois:


Pavel Prado's equalizer at 54 minutes lifted the Chicago Fire to a 1-1 home draw with the Philadelphia Union.  Veljko Paunovic scored at 34 minutes for the visitors.


At Portland, Oregon:


Mike Chabala (26'), Jorge Perlaza (33'), and Eric Brunner (68') provided the goals while Troy Perkins made three saves for the shutout as the Portland Timbers played arguably their best game of their inaugural MLS campaign as they ended their six-match home league winless streak with a 3-0 domination of the Los Angeles Galaxy, ending the visitors' 14-match unbeaten run.
