UEFA Champions League Qualifying: Series-Opening Wins For Malaga, FC BATE, AEL Limassol, Dinamo Zagreb; 1-1 Draw Between Braga And Visiting Udinese

The playoff round for UEFA Champions League group-stage berths reached the midway point on Wednesday with the opening match of each of the five remaining two-game series.

At Minsk, Belarus:

Vital Radyyonaw provided both goals (29', 78') in FC BATE Borisov's 2-0 game-one win over visiting Ironi Kiryat Shmona.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Dosa Junior (34') and  Rui Miguel Rodrigues (72') provided the scoring as AEL Limassol defeated visiting RSC Anderlecht 2-1 in the opening match of their two-game series.  Dieumerci Mbokani kept the Belgian club alive in the series with his goal in the 62nd minute.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

Duje Cop (10') and Milan Badelj (74') each scored once as Dinamo Zagreb topped visiting NK Maribor 2-1 in game one, while Milan Badelj kept the Slovenian club's series chances alive with his 39th-minute own goal.

At Braga, Portugal:

Ismaily scored in the 68th minute, enabling Sporting Braga to salvage a series-opening 1-1 home draw with Udinese.  The Italian club scored what could very well be a precious road goal, courtesy of Dusan Basta in the 23rd minute.

At Malaga, Spain:

Martin Demichelis (17') and Eliseu Pereira dos Santos (34') provided the scoring as Malaga blanked visiting Panathinaikos 2-0 in match one.
