In the lone Friday Major League Soccer contest, Bright Dike scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute and Donovan Ricketts picked up his first shutout for his current club as the Portland Timbers blanked the visiting Colorado Rapids 1-0 to climb past their guests out of the Western Conference basement.
It marked the first time this season that the Timbers have won back-to-back games.
