Eddie Gaven (4') and Federico Higuain (58', his first MLS tally) provided the scoring as the Columbus Crew held off visiting Toronto FC 2-1.
At Washington:
Dwayne De Rosario (19'), Lionard Pajoy (45'+2), Brandon McDonald (51'), and Long Tan (89') each delivered a goal for DC United as the hosts picked up a critical 4-2 home win over the Chicago Fire.
