At Cairo, Egypt:
Mohamed Ounajem (31'), Achraf Bencharki (72'), and Mahmoud Alaa (PK-90'+4) each scored once as Zamalek downed visiting Esperance de Tunis 3-1 in the opening game of their two-match series.
At Casablanca, Morocco:
Ben Malango (6') and Badr Banoun (79') each scored once as Raja Casablanca opened their series by blanking visiting TP Mazembe 2-0.
