At Washington:
Kei Kamara (67') and Jonathan Lewis (90'+2) each scored once in the final half-hour as the Colorado Rapids knocked off DC United 2-1 on the road.
At Montreal:
Romell Ouioto (37') and Maximiliano Urruti (80') each scored once as the Montreal Impact, in Thierry Henry's first game as their new head coach, came from behind to upend the visiting New England Revolution 2-1.
At Houston:
Mauro Manotas' equalizer in the 54th minute lifted the Houston Dynamo to a 1-1 home draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Cristian Pavon scored for the guests at 13 minutes.
At San Jose, California:
Andres Rios (53') and Oswaldo Alanis (90'+5) each scored once as the San Jose Earthquakes came back from two goals down to gain a 2-2 home draw with Toronto FC.
Alejandro Pozuelo (PK-40') and Richie Laryea (51') provided the Reds' goals.
At Frisco, Texas:
Zdenek Ondrasek (61') and Paxton Pomykal (90'+1) each scored once as FC Dallas blanked the visiting Philadelphia Union 2-0.
At Orlando, Florida:
Orlando City SC and visiting Real Salt Lake battled to a 0-0 stalemate.
At Nashville, Tennessee:
Ezequiel Barco (9') and Emerson Hyndman (37') each scored once as Atlanta United picked up their first-ever season-opening victory, 2-1 on the road at the expense of debutantes Nashville SC, in front of the largest soccer crowd ever to watch a match in the Volunteer State (59,069 fans).
Walker Zimmerman scored the expansion club's first-ever goal in the 28 minute.
Five Stripes' superstar Josef Martinez suffered a potential season-ending torn ACL in the contest.
At Vancouver, British Columbia:
Gadi Kinda scored the game winner in the 39th minute as Sporting Kansas City downed the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 on the road.
