Copa Libertadores

 Group-stage play in the Copa Libertadores continued on Wednesday with six games.

GROUP A:

At Rio de Janeiro:

Lincoln Correa dos Santos scored the game winner in the 40th minute as Flamengo defeated visiting Atletico Junior 3-1 and salted away top spot in Group A.

At Quito, Ecuador:

Christian Ortiz (24') and Gabriel Torres (60') each scored once as Independiente del Valle locked up a Copa Libertadores Round-of-16 berth by blanking visiting Barcelona SC 2-0, ending the guests South American campaign in this all-Ecuadorian battle.

Final Group A Standings:

1. Flamengo (GP: 6; GD: +6; PTS: 15)

2. Independiente del Valle (GP: 6; GD: +6; PTS: 12)

3. Atletico Junior (GP: 6; GD: -4; PTS: 6)

4. Barcelona SC (GP: 6; GD: -8; PTS: 3)

Flamengo and Independiente del Valle advanced to the Copa Libertadores knockout stage; Atletico Junior qualified for the second stage of the Copa Sudamericana.

GROUP B:

At Sao Paulo, Brazil:

Raphael Veigo got the scoring started in the 24th minute as five different players each scored once for Palmeiras as the Big Green ended Tigre's South American campaign by destroying the visiting Argentinian club 5-0.

At La Paz, Bolivia:

Cecilio Dominguez scored the winning goal in the 86th minute as Club Guarani defeated Club Bolivar 3-2 on the road.

Final Group B Standings:

1. Palmeiras (GP: 6; GD: +15; PTS: 16)

2. Club Guarani (GP: 6; GD: +6; PTS: 13)    

3. Club Bolivar (GP: 6; GD: -7; PTS: 4)

4. Tigre (GP: 6; GD: -14; PTS: 1)

Palmeiras and Club Guarani advanced to the Copa Libertadores knockout stage; Club Bolivar qualified for the second stage of the Copa Sudamericana.

GROUP F:

At Montevideo, Uruguay:

Gonzalo Bergessio (8') and Alfonso Trezza (31') each scored once as Club Nacional blanked visiting Alianza Lima 2-0.

At Avellaneda, Argentina:

Matias Rojas scored the game winner in the 86th minute as Racing Club de Avellaneda defeated visiting Estudiantes de Merida 2-1.

Final Group F Standings:

1. Club Nacional (GP: 6; GD: +6; PTS: 15)

2. Racing Club de Avellaneda (GP: 6; GD: +5; PTS: 15)

3. Estudiantes de Merida (GP: 6; GD: -4; PTS: 4)
