Franco Jara scored twice (19', 27') as FC Dallas locked up a playoff berth by dominating the visiting Houston Dynamo 3-0 and eliminating their down-state rivals from playoff contention, becoming the first club to gain that dubious distinction.
At Nashville, Tennessee:
Boris Sekulic's equalizer at 42 minute lifted the Chicago Fire to a 1-1 home draw with Nashville SC.
Daniel Rios scored for the hosts in the 28th minute.
