Ibrahima Sidibe scored both goals as Debrecen gained a 1-1 game-one road draw with FC BATE Borisov. He scored for his own visiting Hungarian club in the 67th minute, but then scored an own goal for the hosts in second-half stoppage time (90'+3).
At Haifa, Israel:
Bryan Gerzichich scored twice (70', 76') as Ironi Kiryat Shmona made mince meat of visiting Neftchi Baku 4-0 in the opening contest of their two-match series.
At Tiraspol, Moldova:
Fatos Beciraj scored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute as Dinamo Zagreb took the opening match of their two-game series 1-0 on the road at the expense of FC Sheriff.
At Molde, Norway:
Jacques Zoua scored the only goal of the match in the 79th minute as FC Basel took their series opener from Molde FK (who finished with ten men) 1-0 on the road.
At Larnaca, Cyprus:
Vouho scored the lone goal of the match in the 13th minute as AEL Limassol defeated visiting Partizan Belgrade 1-0 in their series opener.
At Maribor, Slovenia:
Dejan Mezga scored twice (13', 47') as NK Maribor dominated visiting F91 Dudelange 4-1 in game one of their two-match series.
At Brussels, Belgium:
Dieumerci Mbokani scored twice (41', 52') as RSC Anderlecht all but clinched a Champions League playoff-round appearance following their game-one 5-0 home dressing down of FK Ekranas.
At Copenhagen, Denmark:
The opening match of the series between FC Copenhagen and visiting Club Brugge ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
At Cluj-Napoca, Romania:
Cadu successfully converted a penalty kick in the 53rd minute for the opening goal of CFR Cluj's 1-0 game-one win over visiting FC Slovan Liberec.
At Wroclaw, Poland:
Alfred Finnbogason (36'), Christoffer Andersson (72'), and Daniel Nordmark (85') each delivered a goal as Helsingborg grabbed control of their two-match series with Slask Wroclaw following their 3-0 game-one road win.
At Glasgow, Scotland:
Gary Hooper (55') and Charlie Mulgrew (61') each scored once as Celtic came from behind and defeated visiting HJK Helsinki 2-1 in the opening contest of their two-match series. Rasmus Schuller kept the Finnish club in the series with his goal in the 47th minute.
At Istanbul, Turkey:
Bekir Irtegun delivered a late equalizer (90') to held Fenerbahce gain a 1-1 game-one home draw with FC Vaslui. Liviu Antal scored for the Romanian club in the 75th minute.
