Europa League Playoff Round

The playoff round for Europa League group stage concluded on Thursday with 30 games.

At Moscow:

Goran Karanovic scored twice (17', 32') as St. Gallen defeated Spartak Moscow 4-2 on the road in game two and won their two-match series 5-3 on aggregate.

At Kazan, Russia:

Aleksandr Prudnikov (33'), Roman Eremenko (50'), and Sardar Azmoun (84') each scored a goal as Rubin Kazan dominated visiting Molde FK 3-0 in game two and took out the Norwegian club 5-0 on aggregate.

At Tbilisi, Georgia:

Louis Schaub (45'+1), Marcel Sabitzer (63'), and Brian Behrendt (90') each scored a goal as Rapid Vienna dominated FC Dila Gori 3-0 on the road in game two and won their series 4-0 on aggregate.

At Kiev, Ukraine:

Five different goal scorers each tallied once (starting with Jeremain Lens in the ninth minute) as Dynamo Kiev dominated visiting FC Aktobe 5-1 in game two and won their series 8-3 on aggregate.

At Farum, Denmark:

Mikkel Beckmann scored the only goal of the match in the 71st minute as IF Elfsborg defeated FC Nordsjaelland 1-0 on the road in game two and ousted the Wild Tigers 2-1 on aggregate.

At Stuttgart, Germany:

Leon Benko (30') and Goran Mujanovic (90'+4) each provided a goal as HNK Rijeka gained a 2-2 game-two road draw with VfB Stuttgart and eliminated the German club 4-3 on aggregate.

At Peatra Neamnt, Romania:

Ruben Rayos scored in the 34th minute as Maccabi Haifa gained a 1-1 game-two road draw with FC Astra Giurgiu and a 3-1 series aggregate victory.

At Trabzon, Turkey:

Paulo Henrique scored twice (14', 64') as Trabzonspor defeated visiting FK Kukesi 3-1 in game two and advanced 5-1 on aggregate.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Jens Naessens scored the game---and series---winning goal in the 90th minute as SV Zulte Waregem defeated APOEL FC 2-1 on the road in game two and won their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Alkmaar, Netherlands:

Dimitrios Papadopoulos scored the only goal of the match thus far in the 53rd minute as Atromitros led AZ Alkmaar 1-0 in game two when the match was suspended after 59 minutes due to a fire in the stadium.  The game is slated to be concluded on Friday, with AZ holding a 3-2 aggregate advantage for the series.

At Tiraspol, Moldova:

Jhulliam (59') and Fernando Gomes de Jesus (67') each scored a goal as FC Sheriff defeated visiting FK Vojvodina 2-1 in game two and won their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Saint-Etienne, France:

Moustapha Bayal Sall's own goal in the 73rd minute provided all the scoring in Esbjerg's 1-0 game-two road win over Saint-Etienne as the Danish club won the series 5-3 on aggregate.

At Liberec, Czech Republic:

Dzon Delarge scored in the 23rd minute as FC Slovan Liberec gained a 1-1 game-two home draw with Udinese and a 4-2 aggregate win as the Czech club advanced to the group stage.

At Istanbul, Turkey:

Hugo Almeida (52') and Oguzhan Ozyakup (54') each scored a goal two minutes apart early in the second half as Besiktas overcame their 1-0 road defeat from last week with a 2-0 home win over Tromso IL in game two and ousted the Norwegian club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Ploiesti, Romania:

Despite dropping a 2-1 game-two road decision against FC Petrolul Ploiesti, Swansea City still easily won their two-match series 6-3 on aggregate.

At Nice, France:

Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two decision on the road against Nice, Apollon Limassol still won their two-game series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Genk, Belgium:

Fabien Camus scored twice (59', 78') as KRC Genk overpowered visiting FH Hafnarfjordur 5-2 in game two and won their series 7-2 on aggregate.

At Tirana, Albania:

Andi Ribaj scored in the 19th minute as Skenderbeu Korce blanked visiting Chornomorets Odessa 1-0 in regulation time of game two, thus squaring the series at 1-1 on aggregate.  After 30 scoreless overtime minutes, Anatoliy Didenko, Pablo Fontanello, Pavel Kutas, Olexiy Gay, Sergey Samodin, Anderson Santana, and (with the series winner) Vladimir Priyomov all converted their spot kicks as the visiting Ukrainian club won the penalty-kick shootout 7-6 to advance to the group stage.

At Thun, Switzerland:

Christian Schneuwly (15'), Marco Schneuwly (48'), and Luca Zuffi (75') each scored a goal as FC Thun overturned their series-opening road defeat from last week with a 3-0 home domination of Partizan Belgrade in game two and ousted the Serbian club 3-1 on aggregate.

At Vilnius, Lithuania:

Kevin Kampl (60') and Marco Meilinger (74') each provided a goal as FC Red Bull Salzburg defeated VMFD Zalgiris Vilnius 2-0 on the road in game two and completed their two-match domination of the Lithuanian club 7-0 on aggregate.

At Frankfurt, Germany:

Alexander Meier (10') and Takashi Inui (75') each tallied once as Eintracht Frankfurt defeated visiting Qarabag FK 2-1 in game two and won their series 4-1 on aggregate.

At Liege, Belgium:

Paul-Jose M'Poku (3'), Igor de Camargo (6'), and Geoffrey Mujangi Bia (35') each scored a first-half goal as Standard Liege defeated visiting FC Minsk 3-1 in game two and ousted the Belarusian club 5-1 on aggregate.

At Linz, Austria:

GD Estoril Praia, with Luis Leal scoring twice (21', 52'), defeated FC Pasching 2-1 on the road in game two and eliminated the plucky, gritty Austrian third-division club----who won last season's Austrian Cup championship---4-1 on aggregate.

At Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine:

FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, with Alexander Kobakhidze (39') and Roman Zozulya (70') each delivering a goal, blanked visiting JK Nomme Kalju 2-0 in game two and won their series 5-1 on aggregate.


At Wroclaw, Poland:

Carlos Bacca scored twice (38', 87') as Sevilla demolished Slask Wroclaw 5-0 on the road in game two, en route to an easy 9-1 aggregate pummeling of the Polish club.

At Rotterdam, Netherland:

Ivelin Popov (19') and Gheorghe Bucur (50') each scored once as Kuban Krasnodar defeated Feyenoord Rotterdam 2-1 in game two and won their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Florence, Italy:

Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two decision at home, Fiorentina, with the aggregate score at 2-2, ousted Grasshoppers on away goals.

At London:

Jermaine Defoe scored twice in the waning moments of the first half (40', 45'+2) as Tottenham Hotspur dominated visiting Dinamo Tbilisi 3-0 in game two and handily finished off the Georgian club 8-0 on aggregate.

At Braga, Portugal:

Alin Buleica scored in the 15th minute as Pandurii Targu Jiu took game two of their series with Sporting Braga 1-0 on the road, forcing the two-match series, deadlocked on aggregate at 1-1, into overtime, during which, Alexandru Ciucur scored the series winner in the 117th minute as the Romanian club won the series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Seville, Spain:

Ruben Castro got the scoring started in the 18th minute as Sevilla, with five different players each scoring once (and Vit Benes delivering an own goal in the 28th minute), annihilated visiting Jablonec 6-0 in game two and finished off the Czech club 8-1 on aggregate.
