UEFA Champions League: Metalist Out, PAOK In (For Now)

FC Metalist Kharkiv have been disqualified from European competitions (pending appeal) for the upcoming season due to charges of match fixing.

PAOK, whom the Ukrainian club had defeated in the Champions League's third qualifying round and were set to take on Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League's playoff round for a berth in the group stage will instead take on Schalke in the Champions League playoff round starting next week, with the winner to advance to the group stage.

Maccabi Tel Aviv will advance to the Europa League's group stage because of the Metalist ruling.
