MLS: Early Landon Donovan Tally Good Enough For Galaxy; Impact, RSL Post One-Sided Home Shutout Wins

Five games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Washington:

Bobby Convey's equalizer in the 60th minute lifted Toronto FC to a 1-1 road draw with DC United.  Dwayne De Rosario scored in the 10th minute for the hosts against one of his former teams.

At Montreal:

Marco Di Vaio scored twice (35', 70') as the Montreal Impact demolished the visiting Houston Dynamo 5-0.

At Frisco, Texas:

Goals from Blas Perez (19') and Michel (PK-72') enabled ten-men FC Dallas to erase a two-goal lead and gain a 2-2 home draw with the nine-man San Jose Earthquakes, whose scores came courtesy of  Alan Gordon (8') and Steven Beitashour (16').

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Landon Donovan's goal in the third minute held up as the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0 on the road.

At Sandy, Utah:

Kyle Beckerman scored twice (45'+1, 89') as Real Salt Lake stayed atop the Western Conference standings following their 4-0 home fist-beating of the ten-man Columbus Crew.
