CAF Champions League: Congolese Clubs Clinch Semifinal Berths

Matchday #5 in CAF Champions League group-stage play concluded on Sunday with two games.

Group A:

At Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo:

Rainford Kalaba (27'), Solomon Asante (60'), and Adama Traore (76') each scored a goal as TP Mazembe defeated visiting Al-Hilal Omdurman 3-1 to clinch a berth in the semifinal round and eliminate the Sudanese club in the process.

At Alexandria, Egypt:

Yunus Sentamu scored the only goal of the match in the 55th minute as AS Vita Club locked up a berth in the semifinal round with a 1-0 road win over Zamalek, knocking the Egyptian club out of the tournament.
