CAF Champions League: More Action From The Preliminary Round

Eight games were contested on Saturday as the opening week of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League continued.

At Zanzibar City, Zanzibar:

AS Vita Club (Democratic Republic of the Congo) dominated the opening contest of their series with Mafunzo 3-0 on the road.

At Bulawayo, Zimbabwe:

Chicken Inn FC knocked off South Africa's visiting Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.

At Moanda, Gabon:

The opening match between AS Magnasport and visiting Etoile du Congo (Republic of the Congo) ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

At Nairobi, Kenya:

CNaPS Sport from Madagascar took the opening match of their series with Gor Mahia 2-1 on the road.

At Bamako, Mali:

Stade Malien took their series opener with  RC Bobo Dioulasso (Burkina Faso) 3-1 on the road.

At Mbour, Senegal:

Horoya AC from Guinea held hosts AS Douanes Dakar to a series-opening 0-0 deadlock.

At Curepipe, Mauritius:

Donald Ngoma scored the only goal of the match in the 17th minute as Young Africans from Tanzania knocked off hosts Cercle de Joachim 1-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.

At Calulo, Angola:

Recreativo do Libolo found themselves in the proverbial catbird seat as far as advancing to the first round of the tournament is concerned following their series-opening 5-1 demolition of visiting Racing de Micomeseng from Equatorial Guinea.
