At San Pedro Sula, Honduras:
Carlos Pavon scored twice (19', 27') to help lead Honduras to a 4-1 beatdown of visiting Trinidad and Tobago.
At San Jose, Costa Rica:
Mexico, fortified by goals courtesy of Giovanni Dos Santos (45'), Guillermo Franco (61'), and Andres Guardado (70'), whacked Costa Rica 3-0 on the road.
