Let The Group Stage Begin: Bordeaux Gain Draw On Road; Bayern Blast Maccabi Haifa

Group stage play in the 2009-10 UEFA Champions League commenced on Tuesday.

At Turin, Italy:

Jaroslav Plasil's equalizer at 75 minutes (he's seen here celebrating with teammates) enabled Bordeaux to gain a 1-1 road draw with Juventus. The hosts' goal came at 63 minutes from Vincenzo Iaquinta.

At Tel-Aviv, Israel:

Thomas Muller's second-half double (85', 88') helped Bayern Munich break open their opening group stage match as they throttled Maccabi Haifa 3-0 on the road. Pictured here are happy Beyern plyers celebrating.
