Ghana became the first African country (beside hosts South Africa) to clinch a berth in next year's FIFA World Cup finals on Sunday as they defeated visiting Sudan 2-0. Sulley Muntari (13') and Michael Essien (53') provided the scoring that clinched first place in Group D for the Black Stars.
