UCL Group H: Late Goal Puts Legend In Win Column; Big Comeback Road Win For Gunners
Group H play in the UEFA Champions League got underway on Wednesday
At Athens, Greece:
Vassilis Torosidis scored the only goal of the contest at 79 minutes as Olympiacos, playing their first game for new head coach Zico, topped visiting AZ Alkmaar 1-0. Here is a photo of AZ's Brett Holman challenging the Red-Whites' Raul Bravo.
At Liege, Belgium:
Goals from Nicklas Bendtner (45'), Thomas Vermaelen (77', he's seen celebrating with fellow Gunner William Gallas), and Eduardo (81') enabled Arsenal to ruin Standard de Liege's group stage debut by coming back from a two-goal deficit and racking up a 3-2 road win.
