DC United Gets Road Win; Arabe Unido Get Road Win Too; Islanders Blow Two-Goal Lead And Settle For Draw

Group stage play in the CONCACAF Champions League resumed on Tuesday.

Group A:

At Metapan, El Salvador:

Club Deportivo Arabe Unido scored a 1-0 road win over AD Isidro Metapan as Orlando Rodriguez scored the game winner at 90 minutes.

Group B:

At Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago


Christian Gomez scored the only goal of the match on a successful penalty kick at 14 minutes as DC United registered their first-ever group stage victory, 1-0 on the road over San Juan Jabloteh.

Group C:

At Bayamon, Puerto Rico:

Cruz Azul came back from a 3-1 halftime deficit to gain a 3-3 road draw with the Puerto Rico Islanders. Pablo Zeballos scored twice (33', 67') and Alejandro Velo knocked in the equalizer (85') for the guests, while Christian Arrieta (23'), Fabrice Noel (39'), and Nicholas Adderly (44') each tallied once for the USL-1 club.
