CAF Champions League: US Bitam Wins Shootout To Advance To First Round; Djoliba Also Advances

Two more clubs advanced to the first round of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.


At Douala, Cameroon:


After a second successive 0-0 stalemate, visiting US Bitam (Gabon) won the penalty kick shootout with Les Astres 5-3 to advance to the first round.  Enyimba International FC from Nigeria awaits the club from Gabon in a two-match series in the first round proper.


At Bamako, Mali:


Ousmane Cisse (32') and Amadou Karembe (80') each scored a goal as Djoliba Athletic Club registered a second 2-0 win, this time at home over East End Lions (Sierra Leone) and won their two-game series 4-0 on aggregate.  ASC Diaraf from Senegal will get their crack at Djoliba in the first round proper.
