UCL: Spurs, Schalke Advance

Two more games were played on Wednesday as another pair of Round of 16 UEFA Champions League two-game series came to a close.


At London:





A 0-0 home draw with AC Milan in game two proved enough for Tottenham Hotspur as they ousted the Rossoneri 1-0 on aggregate for their two-match series. This marked the first time that Spurs advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Champions League.  Pictured here, we see Tottenham's William Gallas clearing the ball from the goal line following Robinho's deflected effort.

At Gelsenkirchen, Germany:





Jefferson Farfan scored twice (40', 90'+4, that's him celebrating with manager Felix Magath after his first score) as FC Schalke 04 defeated visiting Valencia 3-1 in game two of their series, a series the German club won 4-2 on aggregate.
