MLS: Impact, DCU, SKC, Fire, Rapids Grab Saturday Victories

Five games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.


At Montreal:


Andrew (Don't Call Me Arsene) Wenger (44') and Felipe Martins (80') each tallied once as the Montreal Impact blanked the visiting Philadelphia Union 2-0 in a match that saw both teams reduced to ten men.


At Washington:


Chris Pontius scored the only goal of the match in the 49th minute as DC United shut out the visiting Columbus Crew 1-0.


At Foxborough, Massachusetts:


Teal Bunbury scored the only goal of the match in the 20th minute as Sporting Kansas City downed the home-standing New England Revolution 1-0.


At Bridgeview, Illinois:


Marco Pappa (64') and Austin Berry (84') provided the scoring punch as the Chicago Fire came from behind to overtake visiting Toronto FC 2-1.


At Commerce City, Colorado:


Joseph Nane scored the game's lone goal in the 38th minute as the Colorado Rapids knocked off visiting Real Salt Lake 1-0, preventing the visiting club from Utah from taking over the top spot in the Western Conference.  The win ended the Rapids' franchise record-tying six match losing streak.
