BREK SHEA GOAL LIFTS TEAM USA TO FIFTH CONCACAF GOLD CUP TITLE (FIRST SINCE 2007)

At Chicago:

Brek Shea (pictured here celebrating with teammates) scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute (42 seconds after entering the game as a substitute) as the United States defeated Panama 1-0 on Sunday to win their fifth CONCACAF Gold Cup championship, their first since 2007.  The Americans played without head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who was suspended in the aftermath of his late ejection from last Wednesday's semifinal match.  The victory was the Americans' eleventh in a row, stretching their longest ever winning streak.
