The quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup got under way on Saturday with two games played at Atlanta.
In the opener, Gabriel Torres (PK-25', 37') and Blas Perez (78', 88') each scored twice as Panama blasted emotionally-spent Cuba 5-1.
In the second match, Raul Jiminez scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute as Mexico held off Trinidad and Tobago 1-0.
The Panamanians and El Tri will face each other on Wednesday in the opening match of the semifinal round at Arlington, Texas at 4:00 PM Pacific Time (Fox Soccer).
