The semifinal round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup took place on Wednesday with both games played at Arlington, Texas.
In the opener, Landon Donovan scored twice (27', 53') as the United States defeated Honduras 3-1 to advance to the final. Team USA head coach Jurgen Klinsman was ejected by referee Walter Quesada in the 87th minute for arguing over a foul on DaMarcus Beasley. Whether he will coach in Sunday's final will depend on a decision by CONCACAF's disciplinary committee.
In the nightcap, Roman Torres scored the winning goal in the 61st minute as Panama knocked off Mexico 3-1, ousting the tournament's two-time defending champions.
Team USA will take on Panama in Sunday's final at Soldier Field in Chicago (1:00 PM Pacific Time, over the Fox Network).
