UEFA Champions League: Bhoys, Elfsborg Dominate Series Openers; Goose Eggs In Helsinki and Baku

Action in the second round of UEFA Champions League qualifying continued on Wednesday with nine games.

At Gyumri, Armenia:
Vladimir Volkov's stoppage-time equalizer (90'+3) lifted Partizan Belgrade to a series-opening 1-1 road draw with Shirak FC.  Davit Hakobyan scored in the 48th minute for the hosts.

At Helsinki, Finland:
Nomme Kalju held hosts HJK Helsink to a 0-0 series-opening stalemate.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:
Albania's Skenderbeu Korce held homestanding Neftchi Baku to a game-one 0-0 deadlock.

At Sligo, Ireland:

Daniel Chima Chukwu scored the only goal of Molde's series-opening 1-0 road win over Sligo Rovers in the 42nd minute.

At Boras, Sweden:

Marcus Rohden scored twice (20', 62') as IF Elfsborg found themselves 90 minutes away from the third qualifying round following their 7-1 match-one demolition of visiting Daugava Daugavpils.

At Wrexham, Wales:

Michal Kucharczyk (47'), Marek Saganowski (57'), and Jakub Kosecki (74') each scored a goal as Legia Warsaw overcame an early deficit and defeated The New Saints 3-1 on the road in the opening game of their two-match series.

At Bratislava, Slovakia:

Juraj Halenar scored twice in the waning minutes of match one (87', PK-90'+3) as Slovan Bratislava came from behind to upend visiting Ludogorets Razgrad.  Tero Mantyla's goal in the 65th minute kept the Bulgarian club alive in the two-game series.

At Gyor, Hungary:

Barak Yitzhaki (76') and Gal Alberman (90'+4) each delivered a goal as Maccabi Tel Aviv blanked Gyori ETO FC 2-0 on the road in game one of their two-match series.

At Belfast, Northern Ireland:

Mikael Lustig (25'), Georgios Samaras (51'), and James Forrest (85') provided the goalpower as Celtic smothered Cliftonville 3-0 on the road in their series opener.
