MLS: Saturday Wins For Citizens, Timbers, Crew, Philly, DC United; Hoops And Caps Battle To Draw In Texas

Six games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At New York:

David Villa scored twice (22', 74') as New York City demolished the visiting Colorado Rapids 4-0.

At Portland, Oregon:

Cristhian Paredes (52') and Samuel Armenteros (81') each scored his first career MLS goal in the second half as the Portland Timbers notched their fifth straight win, 2-1 at home over the Los Angeles Football Club.

At Frisco, Texas:

Maynor Figueroa (OG-82') and Kei Kamara (PK-90'+10) each scored once as the Vancouver Whitecaps erased a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 road draw with FC Dallas.

Reggie Cannon (40') and Maximiliano Urruti (78') provided the scoring for the Hoops.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Lalas Abubakar scored the only goal of the match in the 85th minute as the Columbus Crew defeated the New England Revolution 1-0 on the road.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Borek Dockal scored what proved to be the game winner at 34 minutes as the Philadelphia Union dominated visiting Real Salt Lake 4-1.

At San Jose, California:

Darren Mattocks scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 20th minute as DC United downed the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 on the road.
