Maximiliano Urruti scored the only goal of the match in the 11th minute while goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez (who celebrated his 23rd birthday) made nine saves to preserve the shutout and victory as FC Dallas knocked off Toronto FC 1-0 on the road.
At Houston:
Alejandro Fuenmayor (21'), Tomas Martinez (69'), and Alberth Elis (80') each scored once as the Houston Dynamo defeated visiting New York City 3-1.
At Carson, California:
Romain Alessandrini scored the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute as the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the visiting San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 in the latest edition of the California Classico.
