CAF Champions League: ES Tunis Advance To Quarterfinals; Platinum, Ismaily Eliminated

Group-stage play in the CAF Champions League resumed on Friday with four games.

GROUP B:

At Johannesburg, South Africa:

Thembinkosi Lorch (81') and Augustine Mulenga (87') each scored once as Orlando Pirates came back from two goals down to gain a 2-2 home deadlock with FC Platinum.

Never Tigere (27') and Rainsome Pavari (37') each scored a goal for the Zimbabwean club, who were eliminated.

At Rades, Tunisia:

Marius Assoko (OG-23') and Franck Kom (83') each scored once as Esperance de Tunis blanked visiting Horoya 2-0 to lock up a berth in the quarterfinal round.

At Alexandria, Egypt:

Abdel Magdi's equalizer in the 55th minute lifted Isamily to a 1-1 home draw with TP Mazembe.

Meschak Elia scored in the 50th minute for the Congolese club.

The Egyptian club were still eliminated from the tournament.

At Constantine, Algeria:

Bassirou Compaore's goal in the 45th minute provided all the scoring as Club Africain knocked off CS Constantine 1-0 on the road.
